Why Joe Biden is Going to Win

Reading accounts like this are the type of things that keep me up at night. And no response or explanation from Google is appalling.

I have entrusted Google to hold and manage my mail, contacts, calendar(s), photos, documents, etc. This is a great reminder to occasionally backup your Google accounts and data via Google Takeout.

Chevy’s Little Engine That Could – The New York Times

KISS at its finest. It’s incredible that this one motor has powered and continues to power so many vehicles that are on the road today. It’s still the go-to motor for many hot rod and racing applications. Even the next generation of this motor, the LS-series, utilizes many of the same engineering, technologies, and designs as the original (e.g. bore spacing, single cam, lifters, push rods, etc.) and including this motor in the next generation Corvette (C8) signals that there are no signs of retiring this motor.

America Has a Law for Disputed Elections—but It’s Not Ready for Trump

I’m really hoping for a clean and resounding win for Biden and Harris in November to avoid a disputed election. Whether Trump accepts the election results and concedes the office is another concern for another day.

As of today, FiveThirtyEight projects that Biden is slightly favored to win (69 in 100 outcomes vs. Trump’s 30 in 100). You’ll remember that FiveThirtyEight predicted a Clinton presidency in 2016 and got it completely wrong. Trump beat the odds then and still has a chance to do it again in November.

After four years of this tyrant, kleptocracy, and gross incompetence, it’s preposterous to me that this is even a contest. I’m reminded of this David Sedaris quote:

I think of being on an airplane. The flight attendant comes down the aisle with her food cart and, eventually, parks it beside my seat. “Can I interest you in the chicken?” she asks. “Or would you prefer the platter of shit with bits of broken glass in it? To be undecided in this election is to pause for a moment and then ask how the chicken is cooked.

Revisiting my July 17, 2020 Post

My July 17, 2020 post.

*updated at 3P.M.* Up until today’s announcement, the most famous person I have gotten to Zoom with was Steven Kerr, but now I can say that I got to Zoom with a future Vice President.

Pumphreys is always a lot of fun and so was this. I found this more informational than fun.

Revisiting my January 17, 2020 post

I set a calendar reminder to revisit this post from January 17, 2020 regarding who was going to be the 2020 Democratic Presidential nominee.

I’m going to make another prediction: Sen. Kamala Harris will be Biden’s running mate. At this point in time, we all know that she’s on his shortlist, has been vetted, and hasn’t opted out of the discussion. While Elizabeth Warren has more political experience and I agreed with her more progressive proposals, I believe that in this moment, Harris will be called upon to help lead, unify, and heal this country.

American Passports Are Worthless Now

It’s funny to think that when I could travel abroad, that I would take the time to research if where I was going was safe. Now, most of the places I’d like to travel have deemed ALL OF THE UNITED STATES as unsafe and prohibited us from entering their countries.

Radiohead – Live in St. Gallen (July 2016)

If there is anything positive to come out of the pandemic 2020, one might be Radiohead releasing live concert performances every Thursday for the last couple of months. The video and sound quality of the performances has been excellent (to be honest, I’ve watched very little of the performances as they have all played in the background while working).

Last week’s release, Live in St. Gallen (July 2016) is worth sharing:

It’s a very similar setlist to Live in Berlin (Sept. 2016), but the St. Gallen set includes one of my favorite B-side songs, Talk Show Host.

Also excellent is The King of Limbs: Live From the Basement. It was only while scrolling through the comments that I learned about Clive Deamer (Portishead) helping the band for this performance and subsequently becoming the sixth member of the band.
